Hello, Dear Ladies,
On September 1, 2016, five members of Upsilon Chapter gathered at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Buena Vista to bag the last of our Chapter's "Books for Babies." About 250 bags were made.
Upsilon Chapter will be doing the "White Rose of Rememberance" for Coletta Sanchez on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 7 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Buena Vista after the Rosary. Her funeral will be on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Church.
Upsilon Chapter Scholarship for a senior girl of 2016 was given to 3 young ladies. However, because of family issues, one young lady had to decline the scholarship. Therefore, the money was divided equally between the other two recipients.
It was decided to have our final gathering on Saturday, September 24 at Mt. Princeston at 11:00 for lunch,. I am asking that you RSVP to me by September 22. Please bring all the DKG items you have to the luncheon, if you have not already given it to me. I need to get everything to Omega State. I sent our "Letter of Dissolution" to Omega State President Sue Pettit on August 22, 2016. I hope you all received the e-mail newsletter from Alpha Sigma (Leadville) President Susan Jewell welcoming any Upsilon member who would like to transfer to the Chapter. If you need help with transferring, just let me know.
Thank you for all you have done for Upsilon Chapter.

Hi Delta Kappa Gamma Members and Friends!
It’s time to get the September meeting organized, so here it goes. Let’s meet on Monday, September 12, at Quincy’s at 5:30 PM.
If you want to participate in our chapter’s scholarship fund raiser, bring a fun “back to school - Happy Fall” white elephant for the meeting, and your $5 donation for our scholarship. Remember this is optional and fun. Don’t feel pressured into doing serious shopping! I will try to bring some extra white elephants, just to add to the fun.
Members of Upsilon Chapter in Salida may be joining us. As many of you may remember, their chapter is disbanding in October, and we are delighted to welcome them. Please feel free to forward this email to all the Upsilon members.
Let’s talk about our fun summers, and upcoming meetings. I would be up for having a meeting or two in Buena Vista so we can meet our new members “half way.” Bring your ideas, and any friends. We hope to initiate Mona…officially soon, and if any of you want to “officially” commit, it would be fun to have a group!
Let me know if you can attend. I’ll RSVP to Quincy’s and send a reminder message the week before the meeting!
Thanks,
Sue

Hello, Ladies,
We need to bag our final batch of Books for Babies. Janet has reserved The Congregational United Church of Christ for us on September 1 at 1 p.m. The more hands the faster it goes, so please come if you can. Remember to come in the back door. Remember that we need to give everything back to DKG...pins, song books, minutes, etc. If you want to bring them on Sept. 1, that would be okay. I am planning on having another meeting in September so we can have our Pizza Party.
Thank you.

We will dissolve next October as we have to have a motion made at a Omega State Executive Board Meeting. We will not collect dues for 2016-2017. We just need to wait until October so we can get all our ducks in a row. We need to get things finalized at the next Upsilon Chapter meeting (April).

Dear Ladies,
Our February 16, 2016 Upsilon Chapter meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Susan Ragan. She presented a program about quilting. Susan is a talented artist and amazed those who were able to attend with her beautiful quilts. Thanks for the wonderful program, Susan! She also was the hostess for the meeting.
Our April Brunch was discussed. Janet Steiner suggested that having the brunch on any day except Saturday would be better attended and easier to find a restaurant. We will finalize the date and place at the March meeting. If you have a preference, please let me know either before the meeting or at the meeting.
Unfortunately, Upsilon members were not needed to deliver flowers for Valentine's Day. Hopefully we will be needed for Mother's Day.
The next Chapter meeting will be held on March 15, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapter President's home. The program will be presented by our guests, Dr. Sue Pettit, Omega State President and Susan Denny, Parliamentarian. Dinner will be served by the hostess, Theresa Cortese after the meeting and program. Please come hungry.
We will also hope to have a report from the "High School Senior Girl Scholarship Committee" on the status of the applications. Omega State Spring Board Meeting will be held on March 19, 2016 at Lone Tree. I will be attending.
See you on the 15th. Enjoy the sunshine!

Happy Valentine's Day, Ladies,
Hope you enjoy a beautiful day on February 14th. I again will not be able to attend the next meeting. Thank you all for understanding. I am trying to get a handle on my responsibilities as Salida City Treasurer.

At our last meeting on January 19, "Blackberry Blossom" performed. We thank them for giving of their time and talents. Also, thank you to Shirley Lambert for the refreshments. (I helped a little, but Shirley did most of it.)
On February 12 and 13, we will again be delivering flowers for the Mt. Meadows Florist. If you are able to help, please be at the shop at 9:30 a.m. both days. It's fun to see how people react to receiving their flowers!
Omega State Spring Board meeting will be held on March 19 at Lone Tree.
Please be thinking about our April Brunch. Where would we like to go and what weekend would work for members.
In March, our Omega State President, Sue Pettit, will be here. That meeting will be at my home and yes, I will be there. We will be discussing more about dissolving our Chapter.
Think Spring!!!
